Illinois' "Use It & Lose It"/Zero Tolerance Law became effective on January 1, 1995. It set the acceptable blood alcohol concentration (BAC) level for drivers under the age of 21 at .00.

No parent wants to believe that their child can be involved with drugs or alcohol. Yet, every year the number of underage arrests increases. The numbers have gone up so drastically in fact, that Secretary of State now feels it is necessary to suspend driving privileges for those who are caught. Various High Schools in the Southwest area of Lake County top the charts for drug/alcohol related tickets and arrests.

Aside from the loss of driving privileges, possible fines and jail time, other consequences caused by drinking and driving may include high insurance costs, mandatory alcohol evaluation and treatment, court and attorney fees and negative long-term effects on your driving record and job opportunities. Estimated expenses can cost up to $2,000! 

At RockWater, we can evaluate and serve adolescents that have received a DUI/Alcohol Ticket or other underage possession charges. Our services include early intervention in the levels: Minimal Risk, Moderate Risk or ASAM 0.5 and out-patient treatment levels: Significant Risk, High Risk and ASAM 1, ASAM 2.1 (Intensive Out-Patient).

And as a preventative measure, we also provide a 3 hour course informing your child what they need to know about the risks related to driving and/or possession of drugs and alcohol. Speakers from Insurance companies also provide insight on how their consequences affect insurance rates/premiums.
